As the body of sports marketing literature grows and the field of sports marketing develops, it seems particularly appropriate to look back on lessons learned from other recently developed fields within the marketing discipline. A look back at events and occurrences in other fields within the discipline of marketing that have successfully developed in recent years should be particularly helpful to marketing academicians working in the field of sports marketing. One such field within the marketing discipline is the field of services marketing.
