Abstract

An analytical method of solution is presented for the problem of elastic buckling of orthotropic rectangular plates. Uniaxially compressed plates are treated for different boundary conditions along the loaded and unloaded edges. The advantage of the proposed method lies in the introduction of a unified analytical solution technique for a multitude of combinations of boundary conditions. For some combinations, only numerical solution techniques were available in the literature.
