State Observation of Nonlinear Uncertain Dynamical Systems

Abstract

This note proposes new types of observers for nonlinear dynamical systems subjected to bounded nonlinearities or uncertainties. The design of these observers utilizes techniques related to variable structure systems theory. A measure for the rate at which the estimates converge to the actual states is derived.
