Abstract
In this symposium we honor the professional contributions of Professor Emerita Annette Kolodny, one of the most influential scholars in our field and a key player in the transformation of the university as an institution. Following an introduction by editor Marion Rust, each of Kolodny's books is discussed by one scholar on whom it had particular impact. They are Michelle Burnham, Tom Hillard, Susan Imbarrato, Cary Nelson, Beth A. Piatote, Shirley Samuels, and Scott Slovic. The symposium concludes with an autobiographical retrospective by Kolodny herself that includes responses to the symposium commentaries.
