Abstract
The electron-rich complex [RuCl(PMe3)2(Cp)] reacts with the alkynol Ph2C(OH)(C≡CH) and NH4PF6 to produce the novel diphenylallenylidene complex [Ru(η1-C=C=CPh2)(PMe3)2(Cp)] [PF6]. An X-ray structural determination reveals a nearly linear metallacumulene chain with a short (1.884 (5) Å) ruthenium-carbon bond.
