Abstract

The electron-rich complex [RuCl(PMe₃)₂(Cp)] reacts with the alkynol Ph₂C(OH)(C≡CH) and NH₄PF₆ to produce the novel diphenylallenylidene complex [Ru(η¹-C=C=CPh₂)(PMe₃)₂(Cp)] [PF₆]. An X-ray structural determination reveals a nearly linear metallacumulene chain with a short (1.884 (5) Å) ruthenium-carbon bond.
