Abstract
In recent years measurements using the (n,n′γ) and the (α,2n) reactions have been performed on 110,112Cd. Through these experiments our knowledge of high-lying, low-spin states and their absolute decay rates has been extended. In parallel, new sophisticated models, which take into account the presence of intruder states due to 2p-2h excitations across the Z=50 shell, have been developed to describe these excitations.
