Abstract

Texture evolution through thickness in continuous casting AA5052 aluminum alloy hot band at O-temper was investigated by X-ray. The major strains from three strain levels from approximate equi-biaxial stretching were determined by strain analysis system. Texture evolution through thickness of the four samples was obtained. During deformation, cube component rotates to Goss orientation-(1 1 0)〈0 0 1〉, passes brass orientation-(1 1 0)〈1 1 2〉 and extends to (1 1 0)〈1 1 1〉-position. Brass component and R-Goss-(1 1 0)〈1 1 0〉 rotate to (1 1 0)〈1 1 1〉 orientation. The (1 1 0)〈1 1 1〉 component was found on the surface of the hot band after annealing.
