Abstract

This chapter dives deeply into the application process, which can seem a lot like touring a sausage factory. However, understanding the whole complicated process helps you to think strategically from the moment you get a great idea for a study. We include topics such as planning, hypothesis development, assembling resources and a project team, as well as suggestions for how to avoid handicapping your application with an overly burdensome budget.
