Abstract

Building on the foundational work of the 2015 San Diego Secondary Traumatic Stress (STS) Think Tank, the STS Consortium convened a second STS Think Tank in Huntsville, Alabama, in 2024 to examine current gaps in STS research and practice and identify organizational intervention strategies. STS researchers, trainers, practitioners, and advocates participated in a structured 1-day meeting to explore these issues. In this article, we report on the content and process of the 2024 Huntsville STS Think Tank by summarizing critical gaps and issues, statements of need for the STS field, research priorities, and recommended actions for organizations serving trauma-exposed populations.
