Abstract

Tunneling experiments were performed on cleaved samples of high Tc oxide superconductors. The data can be fitted by introducing a current depairing term into the BCS density of states. This demonstrates the importance of depairing mechanisms in tunneling studies of these high Tc materials. Large Δ with 2Δ/kTc as large as 11 was obtained. The gap values are different for different junctions.
