Abstract

Among 219 respondents, undergraduate or graduate status did not emerge as a good predictor of empathy towards AIDS victims, fear of AIDS, or knowledge of AIDS. Knowledge about AIDS was a better predictor of fear than age, race, or sex. Greater knowledge was associated with greater empathy.
