Abstract
We will discuss implementation and evaluation of a team-based structure for liaison, clinical, and reference services at an academic health sciences library using Asana. It details the transition from SpringShare products to Asana, highlighting the benefits and challenges. The use of Asana improved communication, collaboration, and accountability, and automated data collection for service metrics. The new structure enhanced service delivery quality and efficiency, formalizing a previously informal team approach.
Background:
This poster details the implementation and evaluation of a team-based structure for liaison, clinical, and reference services at an academic health sciences library utilizing Asana, a cloud-based project management tool. It will examine how this team-based approach enhances communication, collaboration, and accountability among librarians and staff, as well as its impact on service delivery quality and efficiency. Additionally, it addresses the challenges and benefits of employing Asana to support this organizational structure. The objective is to provide a comprehensive overview of the implementation process and evaluate the outcomes associated with the adoption of a team-based framework in the context of academic health sciences libraries.
Description:
This poster will cover the creation and execution of our team-based structure. We began with regular group meetings to strategize the shift toward team-based operations and using a unified reference model. We tackled issues related to preserving service quality and patron relationships, while balancing curricular and clinical support. We will discuss the advantages and challenges of transitioning to Asana from SpringShare products. To clarify how our new system operates, we will link to examples of policies, data reports, and other essentials functions of Asana.
Program Conclusion:
Asana has enhanced our ability to communicate, foster collaboration, and evenly distribute tasks among colleagues. It has also improved our capacity to present statistics to administration, aiding in the decision-making process. Additionally, the adoption of Asana and new policy has transformed our previously informal team approach into a formalized framework.
