Abstract

The 68 winged bean (Psophocarpus tetragonolobus) accessions evaluated showed considerable variability in protein and nitrate % and vigor of second year vegetative growth. Protein content of vegetative growth ranged from 11 to 32% with a mean of 22%. Nitrate content ranged from 0.01 to 1.02%. The 3 Psophocarpu s scandens accessions evaluated tended to have about the same protein %, lower nitrate % and greater vegetative growth than P. tetragonolobus.
