Abstract

Methods of point data processing for yield data have been discussed analysing yield data correlations between two succesive seasons. Even if the resulting conclusions have not to be generalized without further research point data processing has to be considered important for yield mapping systems. Preprocessing of point data as well as the applied interpolation methods have shown important influences on the calculated correlation coefficients. For the transfer of yield data to application grids a minimum grid cell size seems to be indicated. The application of Nearest Neighbor Analysis NNA in combination with an Analysis of Variance has been successfully demonstrated using experimental data of site specific nitrogen fertilization experiments. NNA has the potential to simplify the necessary experimental designs for on-field research.
