Abstract
Electronic spectra of aluminum-trimethylphosphine and trimethylarsine was obtained using pulsed field ionization zero electron kinetic energy (ZEKE) photoelectron spectroscopy. Density functional calculations on equilibrium geometries, vibrational frequencies and metal-ligand bond dissociation energies for the two complexes and their ions were also performed. The spectra exhibited vibrational progressions arising from the intermolecular and molecular vibrations.
