The history, culture, achievements, and community building of immigrants in Kentucky are being documented every day, often in surprising ways. This session will explore the many written, visual, and multimedia sources available through the Kentucky Hispanic Heritage Project website and ask participants to think about similar resources that document immigrant voices and experiences, including those of non-Hispanic heritage. Through conversation and guided reflection we’ll work as a group to evaluate why documenting these experiences matters, and what individuals can do in their own life or professional practice to help build this historical record.
