Research Interests
Dr. Lawrence is interested in the longitudinal course of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and the effects of traumatic stress on health, cognitive functioning, and psychosocial functioning (e.g., work and family functioning), within an age- and gender-specific context. She also investigates biopsychosocial mechanisms underlying mental health outcomes in trauma survivors. Relatedly, her research endeavors seek to identify modifiable individual and social risk and resilience factors to promote health and prevent negative mental health outcomes in survivors of trauma.
