09-10 Watershed Management Services

As part of its administrative responsibilities, the KY River Authority is charged with the collection and dissemination of information, including information and data related to surface water quality. Since 1998, the Authority has provided funding in support of the KY River Watershed Watch organization through a contract with the KY Water Resources Research Institute (KWRRI). Kentucky River Wataershed Watch involves several hundred volunteers each year to collect data on herbicides/pesticides, nutrients, metals and pathogens. The results of this annual sampling are published in an annual report submitted to the KY River Authority and presented at the Watershed Watch annual meeting.
