2012 OMK Camp Initiative/OSD Supplement

Activities and programs offered through this camp will incorporate research-based and evidence-based principles from the resilience and positive youth development literature, focusing on development of protective factors, positive outcomes, and strengths of kids rather than on problems. The camp will promote sense of belonging by providing routes for military kids to meet and get to know other military kids who have been through similar experiences and share their stories. The camp will promote engagement of partners in support of military kids by bringing together a variety of military and nonmilitary entities with different strengths to plan and execute the camp.
