26th Annual Kentucky Spinal Cord and Head Injury Research Trust (KSCHIRT) Symposium

Detalles del proyecto

Description

University of Kentucky, Spinal Cord & Brain Injury Research Center, will host an annual symposium sponsored by both the Kentucky Spinal Cord & Head Injury Research Trust (KSCHIRT) and the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation. The goal of the Symposium is to expose attendees to the most recent research directions and conceptual advances of internationally]recognized scientists who are at the forefront of cell and molecular biology of spinal cord and brain injury research developments. Dedicated time for poster sessions allows trainees to highlight their research and foster new collaborations with senior scientific colleagues. Notably, since we will have a dedicated eSCI advocacyf session with featured speaker, we anticipate that many local members of the Kentucky Congress on SCI will be attending, most with mobility impairments. Dr. Kathryn Saatman is our SCoBIRC associate director and will serve as the PI for the Neilsen funding. Attendees are primarily from the Ohio River Valley/Midwest, but invited speakers are coming from all across the USA and Canada. Notably, OSU, Drexel and Indiana send regular attendees, especially trainees; we anticipate 150-200 attendees over the two-day symposium.
