Blazing New Trails in Injury Prevention: An Interactive ATV Safety Education Program

Detalles del proyecto

Description

The goal of the proposed study is to design a community-based all-terrain vehicle (ATV) injury prevention intervention that will impact the safety practices of avid ATV riders (both adults and children) in Kentucky where ATV use and injuries are among the highest in the nation. This application is highly generalizable to all rural parts of the nation where ATV use is a part of everyday life. This proposal is highly innovative yet feasible as we know the actual interactive model has been successful in another state (Minnesota). However, the attitudes, knowledge, beliefs, and intention to change as a result of the intervention have not been measured in this population. We have the key population and key resources to make this study highly feasible with significant future implications for ATV injury prevention.
