Coordinate/Oversee Local Community Smoke Alarm Installation and Fire Safety

  • McCool, Robert (PI)

Detalles del proyecto

Description

This project will support the installation of long-life lithium battery-powered smoke alarms in low-income households in Kentucky. The project staff will select and support two or more projects in local communities during the project year. The projects will be selected from among applications received from prospective local partner agencies (fire departments, public health departments, etc.). Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee composed of fire service and public health professionals, along with other qualified reviewers. Each successful applicant will become the lead local partner for a project in their community. Local partner agencies will receive smoke alarms, fire safety education materials, technical support, and modest reimbursement (up to $2,000) for data collection expenses. In return, each local partner will provide labor for alarm installations and fire safety education, as well as for the collection of project evaluation data, and will submit reports.
