Description
OBJECTIVES: 1) Review current technologies available for machine grade control using GPS. 2)
Review other agencies guidelines for GPS survey specifications and coordination between highway
designers and construction personnel. 3) Conduct field trials using GPS machine control to evaluate
coordination activities necessary. 4) Evaluate the feasibility of utilizing the Kentucky Continuously
Operation Reference System (CORS) as based stations for GPS machine control.
