Description
Aims and Hypotheses: Over the last two years, the PI and Co-PIs have developed unique field and molecular techniques and innovative statistical tools for analysis of SFD impacts in wild snake populations. We will use these techniques to address the following aims and hypotheses(H):
Aim 1: Determine disease-associated rates of true survival in snake populations.
H1: SFD reduces survival in wild snake populations and infected individuals exhibit aberrant behaviors and movements.
Aim 2: Identify factors influencing disease susceptibility across landscapes.
H2: Local land-use, individual behavior or body condition predict disease susceptibility and progression.
