Description

The overall goal of this proposed project is to examine consumers' dietary behaviors in response to the tax differences between groceries and restaurant. Many U.S. states, counties, and cities exempt groceries from sales tax while others do not. Such policy can have direct public health implications by changing the relative prices of dining at home versus dining out, because the latter is generally considered to be less healthy. We will address two important policy questions faced by state and local governments
