FCLDC Russell School National Register Nomination/Documentation

CHAP is conducting the research and preparing the documentation to amend the National Register historic district listing for the Northside Historic Residential District to include the Russell School as a contributing structure. Personnel will also present the nomination to the lFUCG Historic Preservation Commission. Kentucky Heritage Council. and State Review Board. The purpose of the project is to recognize a valuable symbol of African American culture in Lexington and to f'acilitate the rehabilitation of the building utilizing federal and state tax incentive programs.
