Description

The University of Kentucky (UK) Part C Coordinator Project provides oversight and management of all aspects of the Kentucky Early Intervention System. Kentucky’s Early Intervention System is the statewide, comprehensive, coordinated, multidisciplinary, interagency system to provide early intervention services for infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families as defined by Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, commonly known in Kentucky as “First Steps”. The Part C Project staff consists of a principal investigator, Part C Coordinator, Part C Assistant Coordinator for Personnel Development, and Parent Consultant. The project staff ensures appropriate implementation of First Steps legislation and regulations including but not limited to PL 108-446 and 911 KAR 2:100-2:180 and 2:200. All federal reporting requirements are completed within the deadlines established by the Office of Special Education Programs. The Part C Coordinator serves as the staff liaison with the Interagency Coordinating Council and oversees all ICC workgroups and subcommittees. The Part C Coordinator coordinates all workgroups and activities associated with the development of the State Performance Plan and Annual Performance Reports. The Part C Coordinator also serves as the Branch Manager for Early Childhood.
