Graphene-Based Membranes: Collaborative Research between Monash University, Australia and University of Kentucky

The development of high flux and selective membranes is an important area of research activities. Graphene-based materials are poised to play a very important role in advancing the science and engineering of membranes. These membranes are able to be processed like polymers, yet have the chemical stability of inorganic membranes and as such stride a unique combination of best of both platform. The collaborative work with Monash University will result in scale-up of membranes to understanding of solute transport through membranes. The antifouling property, separation selectivity under nanofiltration conditions will lead to the development new types of membranes.
