Detalles del proyecto

Description

Ground-penetrating Radar Survey of the New Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, Paducah, Kentucky. The purpose of this geophysical survey is to assist with the identification of unmarked graves in the historic section of Oak Grove Cemetery. Ground-penetrating radar will be used to survey the area to identify near surface geospatial anomalies that may indicated unmarked graves. A Real Time Kinematic Global Position System will be used to collect the geo-radar data in a planar projection coordinate system (i.e., Universal Trans Mercator [UTM] Zone 16S). Two student assistants will be employed to help with the survey and provide them with practical training in the collection and processing of geophysical data as an experiential learning opportunity. A report describing the methods, results, and interpretations of the data, along with maps and figures showing the location of anomalies will be presented to the City of Paducah within 30 days after completion of the field survey.
