Detalles del proyecto
Description
This project will develop a methodology using Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data for landslide
identification and inventory mapping in Kenton and Campbell Counties, Kentucky. High resolution,
airborne LiDAR will serve as the primary dataset for identification of previously unrecognized landslides
as well as visualizing known landslide locations. A balance of new inventory mapping and recognizing
existing slides with the LiDAR will significantly add to Kentucky’s landslide inventory. Field checking
both newly identified landslides and selected existing locations will also be completed. Developing and
streamlining inventory mapping methodology will serve as a protocol for effective landslide inventory for
many other landslide susceptible parts of Kentucky.
