KHIT 90, Evaluate Performance of Uretek Deep Injection Stabilization for Bridge Approaches/Departures

For some time the bump and the end of the bridge has been problematic for KYTC engineers. The current methodology for repairing has been leveling and wedging at bridge approaches and departures. This process is expensive, time consuming and typically only a temporary repair. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) would like to explore new technologies to address this ongoing problem. Uretek Deep Injection (UDI) will be used for stabilization of sub-base materials at bridge ends in an effort to eliminate slab settlement. In addition, the Cabinet would like to explore the use of this technology for lifting and stabilization of concrete roadway slabs.
