Detalles del proyecto
Description
Two of the most exciting materials discovered over the last few decades have been carbon
nanotubes and graphene, with both of these materials having remarkable electronic properties.
Hybrid composites of these closely related sp2 bonded materials are expected to show novel
electronic properties beyond the behavior of the two individual constituents and could transform
future nanoscale devices due to the potential diversity of their interactions. This project will
investigate the fundamental interactions between nanotubes and graphene when they are
combined and their use in novel nanoscale electronic devices. The diversity of electronic
interactions will be explored through variation of their bonding. These test devices will be
constructed through scanning probe nanomanipulation and modification while being investigated
with scanning probes and electronic transport measurements.
