Mechanism of Parainfluenza Virus Genome Replication

Detalles del proyecto

Description

The Dutch laboratory has considerable expertise in the study of paramyxoviruses and pneumoviruses using a variety of cell biological and microscopy approaches, including a variety of forms of microscopy including high resolution microscopy. We also have experience in the use of human airway epithelial cultures for multiple negative strand viruses. In this proposal, the Dutch laboratory will focus on experiments in Aim 2 that utilize cell biological and microscopy approaches to dissect critical aspects of HPIV3 replication. These include performing the experiments in Aim 2.1, with the exception of having the Fearns laboratory analyze the RNA that we process and send, carrying out the experiments in Aims 2.2 and 2.3, which draw on our expertise with FISH and FRET analysis, and performing the experiments in Aim 2.4 and 2.5, given our extensive experience with immunofluorescence. As a PI, Dr. Dutch will provide scientific input and discussion on the other work from the entire proposal, to ensure that all aspects of the proposal are well-coordinated.
