MRI Consortium: Development of a Forward Calorimetry Upgrade for the STAR Detector

The University of Kentucky will be responsible for purchasing the Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPMs) and the SiPM carrying boards for the Electromagnetic Calorimeter (EMCal). UKY will also be responsible for purchasing several pieces of the front end electronics (FEE) assemblies. Specifically, the power cable for the ECAL and HCAL detectors, the long signal cables, the power cables and patch panel, the signal patch cable and panel, a power supply and associated c onnections panel and the materials needed for a FEE board test fixture. Tasks include gluing the light guides to the SiPM boards, FEE and SiPM board tests, calibration of the HCAL FEEs, construction of the UK FEE Test Stand setup and full production tests of the HCAL and ECAL FEE boards.
