NCRS Add-on: Washability Characteristics of Major Coal Beds in KY

Previously collected data from outcrop and drill core records will be evaluated and compiled for lithostratigraphic identification and correlation purposes. Samples of the Stoney Fork Member and stratigraphically adjacent coal beds will be collected for biostratigrpahic analysis to help determine the exact age of this interval. All accumulated information wil be compared with data dereived from similar work that will be done concurrently in the neighboring states of Ohio, West Virginia and Tennessee.
