Burdine Abstract for TN Dairy Grant A great deal has been learned, and will continue to be learned, about dairy operations through Dairy Gauge Benchmarking. The benchmarking process allows producers to very quickly compare their operation to peer operations in the region. While each dairy is unique and will have certain aspects of their operation for which they need to focus, the peer groups created provide an excellent base for learning from / with each other in an extension setting. When these groups meet with team leaders, they will be provided marketing outlook education to help them understand the challenges and opportunities in the coming year. And, they will be introduced to policy and insurance tools that can be utilized as part of their marketing plans to manage market risks.
