Performance Monitoring of Surface Tining Techniques I-65, Hardin County Milepost 97.454 to 102.295, Federal Aid Research Task no. 150

I-65 in Hardin County, from Milepost 97.454 to 102.295, is currently being rehabilitated. The new pavement will be constructed as an unbonded Portland cement concrete overlay. It has been proposed to use transverse tining on a portion of the project adn to use longitudinal tining on the remainder of the project. The Kentucky Transportation Center (KTC) has been requested by the Transportation Cabinet to monitor the surface performance of these two projects for skid, noise, wear and any other distresses that may develop.
