PFI (MCA): Autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles for Remote Sensing of the Arctic

Detalles del proyecto

Description

Professor Hoagg will act as a collaborative partner on The Mid-Career Advancement (MCA) award titled “MCA: Training in Autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles for Arctic Research”, which is submitted to NSF by Dr. Christopher M. Richards, who is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Louisville. This MCA proposal aims to provide Dr. Richards with training in the guidance and control of unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) for autonomous exploration of the Arctic. The new knowledge gained will extent Dr. Richards’s current background in constrained, nonlinear, and adaptive attitude control. The project will also broaden Dr. Richards’s research capabilities in robotic systems for extreme environments.
