Pilot Project: A Novel Pathway Connecting Viral Replication to Assembly: The Role of Rab11 endosomes and Phosphatidylinositol-3-phosphate

This planning grant will carry out key preliminary studies on the paramyxovirus systems to clarify the role of PI3P and PI4P lipids in the viral life cycle; to generate critical reagents for the planned proposal; and to bring the key personnel together for a mini-symposium that will highlight this exciting new area to the research community at the University of Kentucky, and provide a launching point for the proposed program project grant.
