Description

The University of Kentucky, Cooperative Extension Service, 4-H/Youth Development Programs (UK/CES/4-H) is proposing to act as grant administrator for the five-year U.S. Department of Health and Human ServiceslFamily Youth Service Bureau, Positive Youth Development, State and Local Collaboration Demonstration Project grant. UK/CES/4-H is requesting $120,000.00 funding for the first year of the project. The University of Kentucky, Cooperative Extension Service, 4-H/Youth Development Programs, and Kentucky Child Now! through the Kentucky Youth Development Partnership (KYDP) will serve as the focal point for strengthening existing and exploring new partnerships to establish and support the programmatic objectives of the State and Local Collaboration Demonstration Project at the State and local community levels. The KYDP will playa lead role to involve state youth serving agencies and organizations, statewide children and youth advocacy organizations, state nonprofit organizations that have a vested interest in positive youth development, with local government, young people, parents, citizens, and community-based and faith-based, youth serving organizations in the SLCDP. During the one-year planning phase the KYDP plans to accomplish three specific formative goals that will shape the implementation phase of the SLCDP: (1) identify and secure commitment !Tomthe local community, and the RHY Programs that will be the collaborating partners during the implementation phase; (2) conduct a collaborative planning process focusing on strategies for pursuing the three programmatic objectives set forth for the demonstration in the application; and (3) review and finalize the proposed plans for implementation with FYSB.
