Description
The National Coordinating Center for Public Health Services and Systems Research (PHSSR) and the
National Coordinating Center for Public Health Practice]Based Research Networks (PBRNs) work in
parallel to expand the production and application of high]quality evidence concerning the organization,
financing, and delivery of public health services. With the integrated activities of these two centers
under a common organizational structure and operating strategy we have strengthened existing
program operations, launched important new research and translation initiatives, and positioned the
combined center for long]term sustainability. Both continuing and new activities of the combined center
will be integrated within four cores devoted to: (1) extramural research programs; (2) intramural
research and methods development; (3) stakeholder engagement and translation; and (4) administrative
support and coordination. The Centerfs PHSSR and PBRN activities will maintain their unique and
distinctive identities as two closely]related programs administered through a shared core infrastructure.
