Radon Education Training

This contract will support the Kentucky Radon Program by producing a radon educational exhibit display, a radon training package for Radon Extension Agents, and a table top display that will be transportable. The primary support will be through display of radon education materials at multiple home and garden shows, expos, county fairs, and the annual state fair. The EPA State Indoor Radon Grant (SIRG) does not provide for any full-time staff in PHPS Division that can produce or manufacture radon educational displays at reasonable costs while also hosting radon exhibits at 30 to 50 shows and conferences throughout the year. The UK College of Agriculture routinely organizes and hosts exhibits centered around energy reduction in the home and they can easily include radon in their educational efforts as well as increase exposure through County Extension Agents in Kentucky.
