Roadway Contributing Factors in Crashes, K9-14-04

Following is a brief description of subtopics proposed to be investigated or analyzed in yet to be determined levels of detail, dependent upon priorities assigned in consultation with the grantor. 1. To evaluate the accuracy of data in which roadway factors are listed as a factor in traffic crashes. 2. To improve the consistency of data from police agencies in which the investigating officer lists a roadway-related factor as a contributing factor in traffic crashes. 3. To evaluate the completeness of traffic crash data related to roadway contributing factors. 4. To improve the ability of the Transportation Cabinet to use data from the CRASH database to identify areas in need of improvement to alleviate roadway-related issues in traffic crashes.
