Abstract RSF 105, Enhancing Data Quality Capabilities Data Currently, Kentucky is hampered in its efforts to monitor CVIEW data quality. Its CVIEW does not allow users to easily extract individual records flagged by other users as having a data quality issue. This issue makes addressing flagged data difficult, and the research team would like to develop a tool that allows users to look at any record with a data quality issue flagged by another CIVEW user. Kentucky’s ITD program wants to develop a reporting tool for CVIEW credentialing and safety data. Kentucky’s recently revamped CVIEW does not have a reporting tool. Effective implementation will require input from users and individuals who monitor data quality. Currently the team is mulling whether to develop a reporting tool for CVIEW or the state’s Business Objects portal that would provide canned reports and allow creation of ad-hoc reports for CVIEW data (observations data reports are available through the Business Objects portal). Another enhancement that team members would like to explore is suing a cloud system to archive CVIEW data. Current users cannot easily archive the data inputs (i.e. CVIEW screening data from SAFER and other sources) used to make screening decisions. Archiving daily downloads would make it much easier to forensically diagnose data quality issues. Last, most of Kentucky’s data quality identification, analysis and remediation efforts are informal. The Kentucky ITD team wants to create a strategic planning document that lays out a process for addressing data quality issues when they arise to reduce the amount of time it takes to analyze and correct a problem.
