The premises underlying the PI’s services is that expanding the interest in and scope of the research related to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) will benefit the sponsor’s research program and patients with COPD. To accomplish the goal of growing the amount and scope of research programs related to COPD, the sponsor’s programs’ visibility and its financial ability to economically support COPD research have to be promoted. In keeping with this goal, the services to be rendered by the PI to the sponsor over the time period described are to establish and operate sponsor programs to reach out to a wider scientific community and other organizations interested in the biology and clinical management of COPD. Such a program shall invite previously untapped experts to serve on the sponsor’s research committees in order to widen the scope of COPD research and bring new, and hopefully, innovative ideas to the sponsor’s research program. It shall also actively seek and promote interactions with other highly regarded professional and health organizations in order to strengthen existing relationships and develop new relationships with relevant professional and health organizations.
