Soil Bank Project

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS -Kentucky) agrees to pay the University of Kentucky (UK) Plant and Soil Sciences Soil Microbial Lab the sum of $10.00 per soil sample for the next 5 years (2013-2017) to conduct "Potential Mineralizeable Nitrogen" tests. These soil tests are being conducted on farms involved in Soil Health demonstrations across the state. At this time it is estimated that approximately 59 samples per year ($590.00/year) will be submitted for soil testing.
