Detalles del proyecto

Description

The administrative and planning core supports the overall functions of the Southeast Center for Agricultural Health and Injury Prevention, which is dedicated to transdisciplinary approaches to improving agricultural occupational safety and health throughout our 10-state service region: Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, and Florida. Accordingly, the primary aims of the administrative and planning core are to orchestrate and "anchor'' the Center's research, prevention/intervention, and education/translation activities In a single, harmonious entity. This firm foundation for our concerted efforts ensures both the maximization of results (i.e., impact) and their fullest possible dissemination. In keeping with this primary objective, the specific aims of the administrative and planning core are to (1) provide clear, highly visible leadership across diverse Center projects and activities; (2) ensure skilled administrative support for all Center projects and activities; (3) facilitate Center cohesiveness, effectiveness, and reach through an established infrastructure for internal and external communication, internal and external program monitoring, formal meetings, and strategic planning; and (4) ensure good stewardship of sponsor awards and other fiscal resources through systematic and transparent budget, accounting and reporting procedures. As a sub-unit of the University of Kentucky College of Public Health, the Center's administrative and planning core Is exceptional in its effective support of a truly transdisclplinary, team science approach to agricultural occupational safety and health in the Southeast. This core Is built upon the experience and strengths of the Center's Director Robert McKnight, MPH, ScD; Deputy Director Wayne Sanderson, PhD; an eight-member Internal Advisory Committee, a nine-member External Advisory Committee consisting of diverse stakeholders and agricultural leaders; a formal structure and plan for Interdisciplinary Coordination and program monitoring; and clear, transparent procedures for progress reporting and fiscal management.
