The University of Kentucky will provide six days of training and followup for 20 teachers of students with moderate to severe disabilities. General education teachers will attend 2 days of training, and school principals will attend the final day of training. This training will include but not be limited to: Family and legal issues; positive behavior management; systematic instrucation; data collection; functional curriculum; alternate protfolio development; Universal Design for Learning (UDL); assistive technology; collaboration with general education staff; increased interactions; embedded assessment in daily routines; & transition planning.
