Description
The University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Department of Behavioral Science, in conjunction with the UK Center on Drug and Alcohol Research, will be responsible for conducting the Targeted Capacity Expansion evaluation for the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) funded project with Hope Center. The evaluation approach can be described as a pre/post-test design. The design includes follow-up measures at 6-months post-baseline for homeless adults with substance use disorder(s)/co-occurring disorder(s). Baseline data will be collected at program entry, and supplemented with data collection (both process and outcome) while men receive treatment and at follow-up for the outcome evaluation for those who received care from the Hope Center program and other community treatment providers partnered with the Hope Center. The evaluation has three primary objectives: (1) To describe client characteristics at treatment entry into the CSAT-funded project; (2) To examine short-term project outcomes based on intensity and duration of treatment; and (3) To complete a process evaluation to assess impact and sustainability. Reports will be provided to Hope Center for regular CQI meetings and semi-annually to report process and outcome findings. This evaluation will comply with current Executive Orders.
